Meet The Staff

Theresa Hughes-Carroll, Lead Hygienist

Theresa graduated top of her class from Northern Virginia College (NOVA) in 2010 with her degree in Dental Hygiene. Prior to pursuing her dental hygiene degree she worked as a Certified Dental Assistant for almost 23 years. She is also certified in EMS and as a Phlebotomist. Her passions include her faith, family, friends (she absolutely loves/adores being both a Mom and Grammy) and spending time outdoors with her dog/side kick Gracie. Her favorite place is with her family and being in the Outer Banks soaking up the sunshine and catching waves.

Patricia Tolley, Lead Dental Assistant
Patty has been a dental assistant since 1997 and has worked with Dr. Swanson since 2010. Patty is a native Spotsy County girl. Patty is married to her husband Stuart and has two kids Zack and Amanda. She enjoys camping, Nascar, and spends much of her time loving on her beautiful granddaughter Maddie!

Teresa Vega-Walker, Dental Assistant
Teresa (Thez) has been working in the dental field since 1993, when she migrated from the beautiful island of the Philippines to Long Beach, California. She has been working with Dr. Swanson since his return to the area, even prior to the opening of his own practice. Thez currently resides in Colonial Beach, Virginia, while her only son Kyle presently resides in Richmond VA. She is a huge fan of both baseball and basketball and loves to travel with her son.  

Madison Wheeler, Patient Coordinator
Madison has been working with Quality Dental since 2021 helping with both the clinical and clerical side of the practice.  She is passionate about people and especially patient care. She is native to Spotsylvania and enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends on a weekend getaway. 

Jordan Green, Registered Dental Hygienist
Jordan is a dedicated dental hygienist with a passion for helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. With 5 years of experience in the dental field, her goal is to provide gentle yet thorough cleanings, detailed oral exams, and personalized education to help patients understand the importance of oral hygiene in their overall health. She earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from Germanna, and graduated with honors and the VDHA award. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends! She also loves traveling to St. Thomas and Disney World! 

Natalijha Draper, Lead Ortho Assistant
Natalijha graduated from King George High school and attended Germanna community college. She then started her dental career.  She has loved working in the dental field for the last several years. She really enjoys the gym, hanging with her doodle Krew, and she is very involved with the next generation in youth ministry and serving her community in the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania community through her church.

Kayla Brazelle, Registered Dental Hygienist
Kayla graduated first in her class from Allegany College of Maryland in 2010. Her employment with our practice began in 2013 following her family’s move from Pennsylvania (Steelers Country). She enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and son, traveling, and cheering for both the Steelers and the Nittany Lions.

Lauren Skinner, Registered Dental Hygienist
Lauren has practiced Hygiene for 12 years. Native to Spotsylvania, she loves spending time with her two beautiful daughters and family. She is a foodie of all sorts and the way to her heart is through chocolate or peanut butter. She loves spending a free day or weekend venturing to the mountains or the beach and spends much of her free time serving her community and serving at her local church.

Allison Woodward, Veterans Affair Coordinator
Allison began working in the dental field in 1988, becoming part of the Southpoint Quality Dental team in December 2016. She shares her gift with “organization” to care for and assist our Military Veterans daily, specifically working with the VA Community Care community. 

Rachel Hill, Office Manager
Rachel is a wonderful energetic part of our team, you will usually find her laughing and smiling with whatever she is doing. She has lived in Spotsylvania since she was 4 years old. She has a love for all things in life, especially her husband Eric and her precious boy Waylon. Together Eric and Rachel also have three rambunctious animals – two dogs Elroy and Honeybee, and one cat Lucy. Rachel started with the Quality Dental Family as the Swanson’s go-to babysitter for their three children. The Swansons then convinced her to come to the dental field to work as a Hygiene assistant and quickly was promoted to Patient Care Coordinator and now Office Manager. 

Natalie Hill, Practice Manager
Natalie began here at Southpoint as a patient in 2013, but later found a home at Southpoint as the Practice Manager. She was born and raised in Tennessee, GO VOLS!! When she is not at work, you can find her traveling to the mountains, antiquing, or completing home projects with her husband. Natalie is married to her very best friend, Brandon. Together, Brandon and Natalie enjoy traveling to new places and finding adventure wherever they go – their most loved places to travel typically include a music festival. Brandon and Natalie just welcomed their first bundle of joy in May 2024. At their home you will be greeted by their 7-year-Old Great Pyrenees, Finley and their two cats Lily and Piper. She has an unconditional love for life and the people in her world. 

Donna King, Office Manager
Donna grew up in Arlington, Virginia. She moved to Fredericksburg VA in 2015. Prior to Donna joining our team she blessed the legal world as a legal secretary for 27 years. Donna began with SPQD as a patient in 2019, then she joined the team in 2020 as a patient coordinator. During her free time, Donna enjoys going to the beach, camping, concerts, traveling and spending time with family and friends. 

Deanna Peterson, Patient Coordinator
Deanna has been in the dental field since 1990. She joined the Quality Dental Team in 2015. Prior to moving to Virginia with her husband Chris, she grew up in Pennsylvania. She is blessed with two handsome sons, one beautiful daughter, and two amazing grandchildren. In Deanna’s free time she enjoys horses, nature, spreading the word of God, and spending time with her family.

Cindy Holder, Insurance Coordinator
Cindy began her tenure with Southpoint Quality dental in June 2012 after retiring from 26 years in education. She received her bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and her master’s degree from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Her primary responsibilities include conducting account audit for accuracy, and insurance claim adjustments. Her greatest joy is spending time with her grandchildren, but she also enjoys reading, horseback riding and painting.
